When it was time to update my daughters nursery to a toddler room I didn't know where to begin. One thing I was certain on, I did not want a room filled with pink. I wanted to go for a soft, kid friendly, unisex look and personalize it with some of her favorites she would love. I painted her walls white and accented her doors with charcoal gray. Her extendable toddler bed adjust from a toddler to a twin size allowing us to get a good use until she grows out of it. The high back board won me over giving it a chic style. I included a white scallop kids accent table with her initial centerpiece to personalize things up a bit. One thing my daughter loves is animals. From taking her to the zoo at a young age that quickly became one of her favorite places to be. I created a wall decal with some of her favorite animal prints that I purchased from home goods. The final piece I ran across and could not resit was the 4 foot giant sized giraffe from Melissa and Doug. This giraffe gave life to this room and she immediately fell in love.
One of my favorite features in my toddlers room that I'd love to share is her reading area. I created a wall dedicated with some of her favorite books. These (3) 24 inch shelves I purchased from at home. However, we recently took a trip there and were no longer available. At home is certainly a hit or miss; however amazon has a wide selection of these acrylic wall mounted bookshelves that will look good in any room and save space.
